If we are currently seeking a research assistant and you are a good fit, we will contact you to complete a research assistant interview. Undergraduate Psychology Honour’s Thesis Supervision
If you are currently seeking an Undergraduate Psychology Honour’s Thesis Supervisor, please note that I typically only take two students per year and these positions fill up quickly! Email me at: jkichler@uwindsor.ca to see if I still have availability. If so, I will set up a meeting with you to discuss the potential overlap of our research interests to see if we are a good fit.
Potential Clinical Psychology Graduate Students in the Child Program
The annual clinical psychology graduate school application deadline is December 1st of each year. At the University of Windsor, we admit graduate students into the Child Clinical Program based on the quality of their application, grades, letters of recommendation, and interests. We only accept students entering at the Master’s level. If you already have a Master’s Degree, then you will have to work towards another Master’s Degree before being considered for the PhD program.
We typically do not bring in students to the program just based on our interest in their research, or their interest in ours. Once students are admitted into the program more generally, they are then allowed time to get to know the various faculty members before making any final decisions about which lab they will join. However, you are welcome to mention in your cover letter that you are interested in working in my lab. We typically send out admission letters in the Winter of each year. Admissions are based on agreement among the various Child Clinical Faculty members that a student should be brought into the program. Thus, the Office of Graduate Studies and Research – upon our recommendation – will offer admission to the top students in the application pool.
